#01 The product

Tande rethinks social discovery: instead of swiping on photos, people match on vibes — personality compatibility surfaced by AI. The goal is authentic connection paired with personal growth, not engagement farming.

An AI companion delivers daily reflections and growth coaching. Conversation coaching runs in three modes: What to Say (suggestions when stuck), Check Vibe (reading the tone of a conversation), and Level Up (deepening a connection). A Wisdom Library curates content on communication and emotional intelligence, and energy-balance tracking nudges healthy boundaries.

#02 Engineering

React Native + Expo app with a Supabase backend, live on the iOS App Store with Android on the way. Production authentication, RevenueCat-style subscription gating (free tier plus Tande Plus at $24.99/month with a 7-day trial), analytics, and crash reporting.

The interesting engineering lives in the LLM workflows: multi-mode coaching prompts, vibe analysis over conversation context, and the daily companion loop — built on OpenAI and Claude APIs with careful prompt engineering so coaching feels personal rather than generic.

Privacy is a design constraint, not a feature flag: end-to-end encrypted messaging and view-once media are core to the product’s trust story.

#03 Status

Live in early access on iOS with a free tier and a Plus subscription. Tande is the most product-design-heavy thing I have shipped — an AI product where the model is a coach in the background, not the main character.
