#01 The product

Appointment-based businesses often manage bookings, customer messages, follow-ups and team operations across disconnected tools. This platform brings those workflows into a single tenant-isolated system designed around a central goal: helping businesses maintain stronger customer relationships and generate more repeat appointments.

The product combines appointment and customer management with a shared conversation inbox, automated reminders, AI-assisted responses and structured knowledge retrieval. Human operators remain in control, while automation handles repetitive communication and highlights opportunities for customer follow-up.

The architecture supports multiple service-business categories without hard-coding the product around a single industry. Product behavior, access and operational defaults can evolve by subscription, business category and tenant without duplicating the core platform.

#02 Engineering

The backend is built with Java and Spring Boot over PostgreSQL, with additive Flyway migrations and strict tenant-aware domain boundaries. The frontend uses React and TypeScript for both tenant-facing workflows and privileged operator controls.

Messaging integrations reuse a common channel architecture for inbound messages, conversation persistence, human replies and AI-assisted responses. Webhook processing is authenticated, tenant-resolved and idempotent so repeated provider events cannot create duplicate conversations or messages.

A versioned product-control layer manages typed defaults and scoped overrides without relying on unrestricted key-value configuration. Published values are immutable, changes require impact previews, and resolution explanations show which platform, plan, business-category or tenant value became effective.

Access and credit benefits use explicit, auditable domain models. Existing entitlement and credit systems remain authoritative, while orchestration layers provide attribution, expiration and safe revocation without replacing the underlying ledgers.

#03 Product systems

Multi-tenant architecture with strict data isolation.

Role-based tenant and platform-operator administration.

Shared customer inbox and channel integrations.

Appointment, customer and reminder workflows.

AI reply eligibility, safety gates and usage accounting.

Knowledge-assisted customer responses.

Versioned configuration and effective-value explanations.

Module entitlement and benefit lifecycle management.

Audited operational changes and idempotent background processing.

#04 My contribution

I designed and implemented core parts of the product architecture across the backend, frontend and operational tooling. My work included tenant isolation, messaging integrations, appointment workflows, AI execution controls, entitlement and credit accounting, versioned product configuration, database migrations and deployment infrastructure.

#05 Status

The platform is currently in private beta. Core tenant management, appointment operations, customer messaging, AI-assisted response infrastructure and operator controls are implemented. Additional retention workflows and business-category expansion are being delivered incrementally.

The case study intentionally omits the product identity, customer information and interface screenshots while the product remains private.
