Proof that backend engineers have personalities. Some of these facts even compile.
DevJoys is my one-person product lab. The bench includes Findyet, Vefuno, Vefuno Fit, Bananeresi, Tande, JuriSpy, and DroneFleetHQ — eight paying customers on the fleet product, and every 2 AM incident is still mine alone.
Got tired of job hunting across dozens of sites, so I built Findyet — hundreds of thousands of jobs in one search, ranked against my CV. In Go and Svelte, a stack I had never shipped before. Now I manage my own applications with it.
Watched 20 TB of live video traffic flow through infrastructure I helped build during a two-week Super Bowl broadcast window. The stream did not drop. My heart rate did — eventually.
Mentored 24–25 interns at Jotform. Five became full-time engineers. Also tutored CS 114 students back at Bilkent — teaching is debugging humans, and I like it.
As Social Events Coordinator of Bilkent IEEE, I organized 17 social events and boosted club visibility by 35%. Backend engineers can be people persons. Allegedly.
Early internships: built a secure online voting prototype with ID-card readers, and a Python app measuring visual perception from electrogram-like receivers. Range acquired early.
I write about engineering on Medium — turning production war stories into articles nobody has to live through twice.
